Hi! I’m Arundhati Samudra — trauma-informed psychotherapist, Womb Medicine woman, theatre facilitator, and founder of Kalaa Dhari. I will be anchoring River & Roots, a body-centered healing space grounded in trauma-informed practice.
I live between India and Brazil, and my work arises at the intersection of personal evolution, creative expression, and collective transformation.
At River & Roots, I co-create a safe, nurturing space where trauma can be addressed at its root, allowing the emergence, strengthening, and embodiment of your authentic Self. Through this work, the body becomes a sacred container for transformation. I honor the fullness of your experience — the tender, the wild, and mysterious parts of yourself — supporting the reclaiming of your agency, presence, and joy.

About River & Roots
River & Roots by Kalaa Dhari is a trauma-informed, body-centered healing space grounded in the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM®). This work supports the healing of complex trauma at its roots by cultivating inner resources that foster deep nervous system safety and embodied presence. From this grounded space, stored trauma can be gently accessed and transformed without overwhelm, allowing the authentic Self to emerge with greater clarity, resilience, and agency. Alongside CRM®, I integrate social arts, and embodied theatre practices, inviting creative expression, relational awareness, and new ways of inhabiting the body. Together, these approaches create a healing process that is deeply transformative, empowering, and life-affirming.
How Does it work?

Trauma-Informed, Body-Centered Therapy
Healing happens where trauma is stored — in the body, nervous system, and emotional patterns. I guide you to create deep rooted transformation that cognition alone cannot reach.

Inner Resources & Embodied Safety
Together, we cultivate grounding, stability, and resilience, allowing trauma to be met and processed safely.

Sacred & Sensory Elements
Sessions incorporate sacred geometry, fractal patterns, and frequency-based music — supporting the nervous system, deepening presence, and awakening inner alchemy.

A Compassionate, Collaborative Journey
Healing involves a heartfelt collaboration. We create a sanctuary where tender parts of yourself can unfold, reconnect, and rediscover wholeness. Together, we foster radical self-compassion and the emergence of your authentic Self.

Layered, Gentle Process
Sessions are paced to honour your experience, holding a safe container for deep healing, embodiment, and personal empowerment.
Why Body-Centered Trauma Work?
Many therapeutic approaches focus primarily on understanding experiences through thought, reflection, and conversation. These approaches engage the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain involved in reasoning, language, and making meaning of our experiences.
While insight and cognitive understanding can be deeply valuable, trauma responses are not held only in the thinking brain. When overwhelming experiences occur, the nervous system organizes protective responses through deeper and more instinctive parts of the brain and body which are involved in survival responses such as fight, flight, freeze, or collapse. Because these systems operate largely outside conscious awareness, insight alone is not always enough to shift the patterns held in the nervous system.
Body-centered trauma work approaches healing from the bottom up. Rather than beginning with analysis, we first cultivate resources, grounding, and nervous system safety. These resources form the foundation of the work, supporting the body in gradually processing and integrating experiences that may have been overwhelming in the past.
Within the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM®), resource-building is not only something we turn to when distress appears — it is the central ground from which the entire healing process unfolds. By strengthening these inner resources, the nervous system gains the stability needed to gently access and transform stored trauma without overwhelm.
River & Roots integrates CRM® with elements of womb medicine, creative expression, and embodied theatre practices. These approaches invite the body, imagination, and relational awareness to become active partners in the healing process.
The intention is not to override the mind, but to bring the mind, body, and nervous system back into relationship, allowing deeper integration and the emergence of the authentic Self.

Who is this for?
This work is for those who feel called to explore healing at a deeper level — beyond insight alone, and into the wisdom of the body, nervous system, and lived experience. It may resonate with you if you are looking to:
• Heal trauma held in the body and nervous system, including patterns that may arise across generational, ancestral, gestational, or deeply layered experiences.
• Reclaim your personal agency and inner strength, developing the capacity to respond to life with greater awareness rather than reactivity.
• Break long-standing patterns and move through blocks that have kept you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected.
• Work with nervous system dysregulation, anxiety, depression, loss of motivation, or a persistent sense of disconnection from yourself or life
• Commit to a healing journey with curiosity and courage, recognizing that transformation unfolds through presence and practice
• Reconnect with joy, presence, and authentic self-expression, allowing more aliveness to return to your daily life
• Explore embodiment, creativity, and contemplative or sacred practices as pathways for integration, transformation, and the reclamation of your authentic Self.
Please remember that you do not need to have everything figured out before beginning.
All that is required is a willingness to meet yourself with honesty and care
This approach may not be the right fit if:
While this work can be deeply transformative, it may not be the right fit for everyone at every moment in their journey. This work may not be aligned for you if:
• You are looking for quick fixes or immediate solutions without engaging in a deeper process of exploration and integration
• You prefer a purely cognitive or advice-based approach, rather than working with the body, nervous system, and experiential practices
• You are not currently in a place where you can commit time, attention, and presence to a gradual healing process
• You are seeking someone to solve problems for you, rather than a collaborative space where you are supported in discovering your own inner resources
• You feel uncomfortable exploring embodiment, creativity, or contemplative dimensions of healing
Healing journeys unfold in many different ways, and finding the approach that feels right for you is an important part of the process.
What people are saying
Healing as Personal, Political, and Spiritual Work
Healing does not exist in isolation. It is deeply embedded in the societal, cultural, and ancestral contexts we inhabit. Our struggles—whether visible or invisible—are shaped by the world around us, by the relationships we form, and by the interconnected systems of care and justice that impact our lives.
As the poet Rumi beautifully reminds us, “The wound is where the light enters you.” Trauma is not only personal; it is a portal that opens us to deeper understanding of ourselves, but also to the world around us. Healing is a relational and collective process. When we heal, we not only restore ourselves but also participate in the transformation of the world.
In this work, we are not separate from the collective journey. As Joanna Macy says, “We are not separate from the web of life. Our personal work of awakening and transformation is inseparable from the healing of the world.” Every step you take in reclaiming your authenticity, in rediscovering joy, in healing trauma, ripples outward. It influences not only your immediate relationships but also the broader cultural and ecological systems that we all share.
At River & Roots, we honor this profound truth: healing is not just an individual journey. It is a shared responsibility, deeply woven into the fabric of collective well-being. Each session, each act of self-reclamation, is an act of radical solidarity—it is a step toward fostering connection, care, and justice within ourselves and the world.
This holistic approach to healing recognizes that personal well-being is inseparable from the well-being of others. As you embark on this journey, you are doing so not only for yourself, but for your community, your family, and the world we share. True healing emerges when we reclaim our personal sovereignty while also creating a more just and compassionate collective reality.
What to Expect in a Session
Each session at River & Roots is an invitation to a gentle, collaborative space where your experience is held with deep care, curiosity, and presence. The work unfolds at a pace that honors your nervous system, allowing healing to emerge naturally, without forcing or rushing the process.
This is not a quick fix—it is a gradual and supportive journey. As we step into this space together, we cultivate a co-creative process, where you are not only the recipient of healing but an active participant in your own transformation.
In our sessions, we may:
- Cultivate inner resources and grounding practices to support nervous system safety and stability
- Explore sensations, emotions, and patterns held in the body and nervous system using trauma-informed somatic practices
- Use elements of the Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM®) to gently access and transform stored trauma
- Integrate breath, awareness, and embodied presence to deepen your connection with yourself
- Draw on creative and expressive practices when helpful for integration
Every session is unique, shaped by what feels most supportive and aligned for you in the moment. The intention is not to push or force healing, but to create the conditions where transformation can unfold naturally, without overwhelm.
Healing does not happen by force or by rushing toward solutions. It is a process that unfolds through presence, curiosity, and the gradual rebuilding of trust within the body and nervous system.
River & Roots offers a space where this process can take place with care, patience, and respect for your unique rhythm. We hold the space for gradual healing—allowing you to reclaim what is yours without pressure or expectation.
A Gentle Invitation
